Magnificent vintage in 2000, followed by another one in 2001 makes Southern France a tremendous source for well priced, well made wines. Increasingly the wines are up to and beyond the international competition, many of them are made by the same winemakers who vinify in Australia and South Africa in the Southern Hemisphere summer.

Europe

Italy continues to offer such a diverse range of wines and styles that it often seems, to the consumer, a daunting and intimidating proposition. As well as the proven names we offer a range of lesser kmown wines from small producers that are well worth an experiment.

The story of Spain is too often the story of Rioja. There are a number of other wine varieties available including the ever bubbly Cava. Overall its' wines continue to make improvements and win friends.

Production of Chilean wines accelerated faster than anywhere else in the world. It is still a relatively small vineyard area compared to the big European countries, but it grabs a lot more headlines. And for all the right reasons. Consistent high quality.

Argentina makes great wines with intense dark brooding fruit, some chunky weight and a bit of Argentinian @gusto@ unique to this exciting country. Their white wines are also of high quality.

South Africa continues it's renaissance within the UK market place and all the signs show that slaes will continue to grow. The wines offer a choice of good value, well made varietal wines ranging across all price brackets, and quality keeps growing.

Californian wines continue to win over the UK wine drinking public, with their easy drinking and fruit driven varieties. With its' famous climate and continued investment in modern and innovative wine making techniques, the future looks rosy.
